The Chouara tanneries This tannnery is the bigggest still working of Fes. It looks like a huge paintbox and consists of long rows of tanks made of clay. Here they wash and treat the fur of sheep, goats and cows. A fascinating view on an ancient tradition, wich still earns much respect in the culture of Fes!

Mausoleum of Sidi Ahmed TijaniZaouia In this mosque one of the most important men of Fes has found his final place. Sidi Ahmed Tijani, an Algerian and descendant of the prophetMohammed. It was here he founded the religious group that was named after him.

Bab Guissa
This gate connnects the medina to the north. The door was made on the eleventh century and had its place in the original walls. This place is well known foor the stories that are told by the old story tellers.
